Virtual Event in Malaysia, What’s Up With That?

Aisyah

Everybody’s talking about virtual events. From BTS concerts online to beauty pageants happening on screens, it seems like the whole world’s going virtual.

But when we look around in Malaysia, it's like, where's all that stuff here?

Virtual Events, Cool or Not for Malaysia?

Maybe we'll start loving virtual events just like everything else that's new to us. Think about it. You can join in from your bed, in your pajamas, and nobody would know.

Plus, no traffic jams or having to find parking. So, yeah, virtual events could be a big hit here.

How Far Along Are We?

Sometimes, it seems like we're a bit behind the curve, doesn't it? Our internet speeds are picking up, aren't they? And it seems like everyone's becoming a bit of a tech whiz these days.

But, making these online gigs fun and something you wanna join, we're not quite there yet.

Malaysians Catching Up or Not?

It's half-half. Some of us are all for watching things on our laptops and chatting in Zoom.

But, when it comes to having fun online, like with virtual parties or events, it's like, "Eh, how ah?" Seems like we're taking our time to dive into this.

Why's It Not a Big Thing Here Yet?

A couple of reasons. First off, we Malaysians love our meet-ups. Chilling together, eating out – that's our thing. Online can't give you that. Then, networking. It’s tough to do that online like how we do face-to-face.

And let’s not forget, figuring out how to run or join these virtual events isn’t exactly easy for everyone.

Wrapping It Up

Adapting to new things? We've always been ace at that, haven't we?

Virtual events hold lots of perks. But we need to get better at making them as fun and easy as the real deal. And, who knows? Maybe soon, we’ll all be into attending concerts or workshops from our couches, feeling like we’re right there, but still in our comfy clothes.

It's all about getting used to new stuff. Virtual events in Malaysia could just be another thing we'll all get into. Let's wait and see!
