The Public Learning Resource Center (PLRC) in Balanga City, Bataan has become the first public library in Luzon that operates until 9 p.m.

The extension of the library hours which started November 30, came from a directive given by  the government of Bataan.

Meanwhile, the Saturday schedule remains at its original time of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

“We want to support the educational endeavors of the students of Bataan especially those who have research projects,”Jake Garcia, chief librarian said.

According to Garcia, the allotted time for students in using the PLRC was prolonged because the former schedule was not enough for those who are reviewing for their exams or doing research-related activities.

Despite publicizing the information through their posts in their online page and on the daily bulletin, but still a lot of students are not fully aware of the PLRC.
